Live a Stronger, More Active Life!

I truly believe that Pilates can meet anyone where they are in their physical challenges and make them stronger and feel better so you can live a more active life!

What is Pilates?

Pilates is an exercise method developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. It was originally called Contrology. His underlying philosophy was that to achieve good health one must address the whole being – body, mind, and spirit.

Using both the Mat and equipment designed by Joseph Pilates, it can teach correct body alignment and balance. Using equipment, it is the ideal way to add both flexibility and strength to every movement.

Through the regular and proper use of Pilates, you can:

Improve posture, strength & flexibility

Restore your body to avoid or prevent injury

Alleviate back pain or any other joint discomfort

Age easier with less pain, stronger core & better balance

About Jacquie

Dedicated to keeping people moving and feeling good

Hi, I’m Jacquie Szachara, studio owner and NCPT®, I love to talk about how Pilates can feel so good and give people pain-free, strong and easy movement. Sometimes I wonder if I had never done Pilates would I ever know how good my body can feel. ~ I was a Software Engineer for 12 years. I suffered a minor car accident which a couple of years later caused me to have low chronic back pain. I was an avid runner, tennis player and cyclist and assumed that I would always have some kind of pain. Doing Pilates gave me the ability to enjoy all the activities that I loved and felt stronger than ever. Pilates is the most effective exercise for any physical level and I felt it was important to share that with as many people as I could.

I received my Advanced Classical Pilates training from The Pilates Center in Boulder, CO in 2012. I continued to work with 2nd generation instructors including Debra Kolwey, Leah Wecksler and Cara Reeser. All learning from different elders of Joseph Pilates, but all dedicated to his systematic approach to restore the body to its natural being. I have completed workshops in Scoliosis, Pain Management, Neurological Disorders and our Aging community.

In 2012 I completed the Kathy Grant Heritage program with Cara Reeser and then followed Cara and through her Movement Science Made Simple workshops on Hip, Spine and Shoulder Pathologies as well as understanding Chronic Pain.

I continue to work weekly with master teachers Leah Wecksler and Cara Reeser in my own practice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q & A With Jacquie

How did you get into Pilates?

Started doing mat Pilates at the YMCA to help with low back pain.  My husband purchased an intro pack for Pilates equipment private sessions and was hooked!

Why is Pilates your passion?

I have experienced first hand how Pilates has changed the way I looked and felt in my body.  I never realized how good someone could feel both mentally and physically.  I want to be able to offer that to everyone especially those that are aging and no longer feel good with simple daily living.

Why did you become an instructor?

After 15 years as a Software engineer and 10 years taking care of my children, I wanted to start working again.  At that time I was doing Pilates regularly and was intrigued from the physical sense on how effective this practice was.

What made you open your home studio?

In 2020 the nation was challenged with a pandemic.  At first I offered online classes, but for many of my clients, the technology and the mat work made it challenging.  Once our county was managing safely under the pandemic protocols, I decided to open my personal studio so that my clients can feel safe and still get all the benefits of a personal session with the Pilates equipment.

How do you maintain a safe environment for your clients?

All clients are required to be free of any viral symptoms and have not been exposed to COVID-19 for 14 days prior to their session. Their temperature is taken and hands sanitized upon entry.  We have a HIPA filter that removes 99.6% of all bacteria’s and allergens.  Client sessions are spaced 15 minutes apart so that there is no contact between them and there would be enough time for the equipment to be thoroughly wiped down.

What makes your session unique?

I have extensive training to look at everyone’s body individually and give them the proper movements that will help them with the challenges that are facing them.  I try hard to work with their “team” of professionals as my goal is to help them understand their challenges and make them feel better.  Many times it takes more than one modality to get the result that one needs.

What makes your class enjoyable?

I try to create a class that you can move in, find your inner strength and laugh a little.

What do you enjoy most about teaching Pilates?

Being able to work with my clients in their journey to better health! And after every hard day, I know what I truly want to do tomorrow – I want to go deeper, teach better and help people change their lives.
